What is Strategic Mapping? It is often difficult to filter through the masses of data available on which to base a business or marketing decision. We often use graphs, flowcharts or maps to visualise information in a more readily interpretable format. These are all forms of Visual Business Intelligence. Alitek and colleagues have jointly developed a specialised Strategic Mapping service to assist business in the areas of business strategy and market research. Strategic Mapping may incorporate data from your internal databases (eg customers, sales, activities or costs), from external sources such as census and consumer spending statistics, and/or from specific research commissioned by you. By overlaying different sets of internal and external data, we show visually on a map how different locations vary in their characteristics and performance and identify areas on which to focus attention.
